Cleaner Ruislip Modern Slavery Statement
Our Commitment
Cleaner Ruislip is firmly committed to conducting business in a responsible and ethical manner. We recognise that modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation are serious crimes and fundamental violations of human rights. We adopt a zero-tolerance stance towards any form of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains and are committed to acting with integrity and transparency in all our business relationships.
This statement explains the steps Cleaner Ruislip takes, and continues to develop, to identify, prevent and address risks of modern slavery in our business and among our suppliers.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Cleaner Ruislip provides cleaning and related services to commercial and residential customers. Our workforce consists of directly engaged staff and vetted subcontractors, and our supply chain includes providers of cleaning products, equipment, uniforms, facilities management and other support services.
We recognise that some aspects of the cleaning sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, particularly where low-paid, temporary or migrant labour is involved. We therefore work to ensure that all workers who contribute to our services are treated lawfully, fairly and with dignity.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Cleaner Ruislip has a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. This policy applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, suppliers and business partners. We expect everyone who works with or for Cleaner Ruislip to uphold high standards of ethical conduct and to comply with all applicable labour, employment and human rights laws.
Any breach or suspected breach of this policy is treated seriously and may result in termination of contracts, referral to relevant authorities or other appropriate corrective action.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers and subcontractors who share our values. As part of our supplier management process, we seek to:
Require confirmation from key suppliers that they do not use forced, bonded or involuntary labour, and that workers are employed of their own free will and are free to leave on reasonable notice.
Assess new suppliers based on their labour practices and ethical standards, including their own modern slavery policies where relevant.
Reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence to verify a supplier's compliance with our standards. Where risk is identified, this may involve site visits, documentation checks or structured questionnaires focusing on recruitment, working conditions and worker protections.
Where a supplier is found to be non-compliant, we aim to work collaboratively to address issues where feasible. If meaningful improvement is not achieved in a timely manner, we may suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Channels and Protection
Cleaner Ruislip encourages all employees, workers, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions about modern slavery or unethical labour practices connected to our operations or supply chain. Concerns may include indicators such as withholding of pay, retention of identity documents, restrictions on freedom of movement or signs of coercion.
Reports can be made through internal management channels or to a senior manager. We will treat all concerns in a sensitive, timely and confidential manner wherever possible, investigate them appropriately and take corrective action as required.
We are committed to protecting anyone who raises a concern in good faith from retaliation or detrimental treatment. Victimisation of individuals who speak up about potential modern slavery is not tolerated.
Training and Awareness
To support our zero-tolerance approach, we aim to raise awareness among relevant staff and managers about the risks and indicators of modern slavery. This may include induction briefings, updates to policies and targeted training for those involved in recruitment, procurement and supplier management.
By improving awareness, we seek to ensure that potential issues are recognised early and escalated appropriately.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Cleaner Ruislip is committed to continually improving its approach to tackling modern slavery. We will review this statement and our supporting procedures at least once every year, and more frequently if needed in response to changes in legislation, guidance, business activities or identified risks.
The annual review will consider the effectiveness of our actions, any incidents or concerns raised, the outcomes of supplier assessments or audits and feedback from stakeholders. Where gaps or areas for improvement are identified, we will update our policies, processes and training accordingly.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Cleaner Ruislip and represents our ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and protecting the rights and welfare of all workers within our business and supply chains.
